Yay - I passed the course and I'm both delighted + a little sad that the course is over.  I started the course with a rudimentary knowledge of hand embroidery - mainly cross -stitch.  So my first work showed this lack of experience.  There is a video of some of my work on youtube here: https://youtu.be/RiMqt87yM94 - don't judge the early work too harshly :-).  I loved most of the course (sorry, but I am never going to get excited about drawn thread work/Stavanger embroidery!), the fabric and yarn dyeing was fantastic, as were bead-making and making embellishments. When I was able to start designing my own work drawing on gender stereotyping and interpretation of maps into embroidery, I really enjoyed it.  The course also gave me the opportunity to study photography and graphic manipulation which I hadn't expected.

There will be a short article on me from the School coming up soon.
